About Me
I am a busy working mum and a nana. Family is important to me, and I understand how difficult it is to face challenging times as a family.
I am a lawyer focused on helping people find pragmatic solutions that work in the real world and not just on paper. I believe every client is entitled to be treated with respect and to be assisted to get the best outcome available to them.
I understand that as lawyers we walk alongside others during some of the worst times in their life and I aim to help lighten the load over this time. It is my practice to deliver legal advice in plain language, so clients are able to understand their options and make an informed decision.
My Experience
I studied for my law and arts degrees at Canterbury University whilst raising my family. I graduated in 2008 and spent the first year working solely in Employment Law. For the next 4 years of my career, I was employed as a solicitor at Community Law Canterbury. My key responsibilities were for the employment law service, the Timaru outreach general legal services and the Education services. During this time I also worked alongside my colleagues providing frontline legal services following the Christchurch Earthquakes. I then worked in private practice for SB Law and expanded my legal skills to include Employment Law, Education Law, and Family Law.
I have been practicing as a Barrister Sole since 2016. I am appointed as lawyer for child. I provide private legal services and legal aid funded legal services for Family and Employment matters. I have experience with Teacher’s Disciplinary matters, private civil disputes and matters relating to welfare guardianship.
I am passionate about supporting a number of community organizations. I have volunteered as a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister Christchurch. I have served on Board of Trustees for schools and community organisations in the past. I continue to volunteer at the Community Law Centre regularly.
